“Leaky Dryvit.”
These words send chills down the spine
of any developer on the West Coast - and sadly, homeowners aren’t
immune either. This project began with a messy insurance claim after
the exterior skin of this mid-90’s construction began to leak. The
owners saw opportunity along with the disaster, and brought PLACE
in to design a full reclad of the whole building, bringing new life
and style to a bland, dated exterior. Rainscreen siding, skinned
with a mix of metal, wood, and fiber cement panels came to the
rescue once again, and the result is a lively palette and a warm,
dry house.
